About The Role

Role Overview

proAV are a leading global audio visual integrator, providing AV and event services across multiple client partnerships globally.

Our immediate requirement is for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to be a key part of our Dublin team, representing proAV, taking full responsibility for integrating Audio Visual (AV) systems on construction site fitouts, new builds, and existing occupied client sites. This role requires a deep understanding of AV technologies and their convergence with IT networks.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional, experienced Commissioning Engineer to join an established operation with scope to drive and enhance the service at every opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and configure Audio-Visual and associated Network systems, using industry and manufacturer certification, industry standards and experience to meet project specification requirements.
  • Maintain an ongoing education of key Audio-Visual manufacturer technology, in terms of software, hardware and upcoming innovations.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, verbal and written to build and maintain relationships with other internal departments, clients and contractors.
  • Perform base and final programming and device configuration of systems such as, digital signal processors (DSPs), video conferencing (VC) and Unified Conferencing (UC) systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure installations meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct system testing, calibration, and adjustments for optimal performance.
  • Document system configurations, commissioning procedures, and user training materials.
  • Provide on-site support during installations and training sessions for end-users.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging Audio-Visual, UC, Networking and AI technologies.
  • Attend client site to manage service call outs and perform on-site service maintenance as required.
  • Represent the company with the necessary level of professional conduct and presentation.
  • To develop your knowledge from both experience and research to become an “expert” in one or more of a particular area of our project work to whom others in the organisation can refer.
 

Required skills

  • Proven experience as an Audio-Visual Commissioning Engineer, with specific education, Certification and expertise in configuring devices from Crestron, QSC - Qsys, Lightware, Extron.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Audio-Visual equipment, both analogue and digital, including displays, projectors, microphones, and audio systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, organised and flexible with the ability to approach different types of tasks during the working day.

  • Willingness to travel for assignments across the country.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CTS, Crestron certification, Qsys training) are highly desirable.

  • Able to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to think laterally finding an appropriate solution to fulfil an application.

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written, being able to communicate with all stakeholders with confidence and accuracy.

  • Education, Certification and experience of integrating systems using Network and single wire transport methods such as HDBaseT, AVoIP, NDI, Dante and AES67.
  • Ability to work to the highest quality standards with attention to detail ensuring that we complete our work thoroughly, never walking away from a problem.
